Dubai International Airport (DXB) is gearing up to welcome 3.43 million passengers over the next two weeks. To accommodate this influx, the Dubai Metro will extend its operating hours: from 5 am to 2 am until Saturday, August 24, and from 8 am to 2 am on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
DXB recommends using the Dubai Metro, which serves both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, for a more efficient journey home.
From Wednesday, August 21 to Monday, September 2, 2024, daily traffic at DXB is expected to average around 264,000 passengers, with peak days possibly reaching up to 291,000.
In the first half of 2024, DXB set a new record with 44.9 million passengers, marking an 8% increase from the previous year. January alone saw nearly 8 million passengers, making it the busiest month in the airport’s history.
If the current trends continue, DXB is on track to surpass its previous annual traffic record of 89.1 million passengers set in 2018, potentially reaching around 91 million by the end of 2024.
Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, has indicated that the airport will likely exceed 90 million passengers this year, thanks in part to expanded services from Emirates and flydubai.
Safe travels to all!
