The Louvre Abu Dhabi, located on Saadiyat Island, is offering a special treat for photography enthusiasts in celebration of World Photography Day on August 17 and 18, 2024. If you’ve been planning to visit or revisit the museum, this is your chance to do so without paying the entrance fee—provided you bring along a friend and a camera (either a DSLR or digital camera, but not a smartphone).
There’s a small catch: if your friend isn’t a photography buff like you, they’ll need to buy a ticket. However, thanks to the museum’s ongoing summer promotion, adult tickets are currently discounted to Dhs44.10 until August 31, 2024. If you split the cost with your friend, it comes out to just Dhs22.05 each—a significant saving compared to the regular price of Dhs60 that will return after summer.
To take advantage of this offer, simply head to the ticket desk when you arrive. Keep in mind that tripods and gimbals are not allowed inside the museum.
You might want to visit again later this year, as the Louvre Abu Dhabi has some exciting exhibits planned. Starting in October 2024, the museum will feature major loans from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, including works by Vincent Van Gogh. One of the highlights will be Van Gogh’s famous painting “The Bedroom,” which will be on display for four months.
